How a CLI run once per turn reports the permission mode it runs in, for SCV to check against the policy before it trusts the run.

Variants

ClaudeInit

Claude Code’s stream-json system/init event carries permissionMode, in the same event as apiKeySource.

CodexRollout

codex exec --json reports no mode. The rollout file under the agent home’s sessions/ records a turn_context with its approval_policy and sandbox_policy, read shortly after the turn starts.

None

Nothing SCV reads: the mode is unverified, or the agent has no full-autonomy switch to verify.
