Direct = 0
Raw values stored directly (8 bytes per element for f64, 8 for i64).
Dictionary = 1
Dictionary encoding: values replaced by u16 indices into a dictionary.
RleV2 = 2
ORC integer RLE v2 (delta + base encoding for i64 columns).
DirectString = 3
UTF-8 length-prefixed strings (variable width).
