Messages

Struct Messages

Source
pub struct Messages { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Message defaults, plus whatever the application overrode.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Messages

Source

pub fn new() -> Self

Source

pub fn set(&mut self, key: impl Into<String>, message: impl Into<String>)

Override a message.

The key is "field.rule" for one field ("email.required") or just "rule" to replace the default everywhere ("required"). Placeholders still interpolate, so an override can keep :attribute.

Source

pub fn with(self, key: impl Into<String>, message: impl Into<String>) -> Self

The chaining form of Messages::set.

Source

pub fn set_attribute( &mut self, field: impl Into<String>, label: impl Into<String>, )

Rename a field for display: attribute("dob", "date of birth").

Source

pub fn attribute( self, field: impl Into<String>, label: impl Into<String>, ) -> Self

The chaining form of Messages::set_attribute.

Source

pub fn label(&self, field: &str) -> String

How a field is named in a message.

Without an override, email_address reads as “email address” — a form field name is a programmer’s word, and the message is a user’s.

Source

pub fn template(&self, field: &str, rule: &Rule, kind: SizeKind) -> String

The template for a field/rule pair: a per-field override, then a per-rule override, then the built-in default.
