What a trigger of a foreign key on the referenced table does for an old key, confdeltype and confupdtype.

Variants

NoAction

NO ACTION: an error if a row of the referencing table has the old key and no other row of the referenced table has it.

Restrict

RESTRICT: an error if a row of the referencing table has the old key. The check does not look for another row with the old key, as ri_Check_Pk_Match does for NO ACTION.

Cascade

CASCADE: the rows of the referencing table with the old key go, or get the new key.

SetNull

SET NULL: the rows of the referencing table with the old key get nulls.

SetDefault

SET DEFAULT: the rows of the referencing table with the old key get the defaults of the columns.
