Channel

Struct Channel

Source
pub struct Channel {
    pub release: String,
    pub build: String,
    pub manifest: Payload,
    pub licence: String,
}
Expand description

What the channel manifest says, which is the entry point and nothing else.

Fields§

§release: String

The release as a person reads it, such as 17.14.41 (September 2026).

§build: String

The build, such as 17.14.37710.0, which is what the installer manifest is versioned by.

§manifest: Payload

The installer manifest, as the channel describes it. See this module’s note about the hash.

§licence: String

Where Microsoft publishes the licence that permits this download, taken from the build tools product in the channel rather than written down here, so that the address a person is sent to is the one Microsoft is serving today.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Channel

Source

pub fn parse(text: &str) -> Result<Self, MsvcError>

Read a channel manifest.

§Errors

When the document does not parse, when it has no installer manifest in it, and when the build tools product it takes the licence from is not there.
