ProviderError

Enum ProviderError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum ProviderError { NotFound { what: String, }, Unauthorized { host: String, }, RateLimited { host: String, retry_after: Option<Duration>, }, Transport(String), MalformedResponse(String), Unsupported, InvalidConfig(String), Io(Arc<Error>), }
Expand description

Every failure mode a ReleaseProvider can surface.

Clone is derived so callers can route error values through retry policies or stash them in rendered diagnostics without losing the underlying io::Error. The Io variant wraps in Arc for that reason — the same pattern used in rtb-credentials::CredentialError.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

NotFound

Release or asset does not exist, or the caller lacks permission to see it (drafts for unauthenticated callers map here).

Fields

§what: String

Describes what was missing: a tag name, an asset filename, or a repo coordinate.

§

Unauthorized

The host rejected our credentials.

Fields

§host: String

The host that issued the 401.

§

RateLimited

The host rate-limited us. retry_after is populated when the response carried a Retry-After header or equivalent.

Fields

§host: String

The host that issued the rate-limit response.

§retry_after: Option<Duration>

Duration the host asked us to wait before retrying. None when the response didn’t carry a Retry-After.

§

Transport(String)

The request didn’t reach the server, or the response never completed.

§

MalformedResponse(String)

The server replied with a body we couldn’t parse into the expected shape.

§

Unsupported

The call is not applicable to this backend. Bitbucket Cloud surfaces this for list_releases — there is no native listing endpoint and synthesising one by walking tags defeats the point of the abstraction.

§

InvalidConfig(String)

Factory-time validation failed — invalid host, missing required params, HTTP-only URL where HTTPS is mandatory, etc.

§

Io(Arc<Error>)

Wrapped std::io::ErrorArc keeps the enum Clone without losing the underlying kind.
