Expand description

Errors that can occur during sparse solver operations.

Note: PartialEq is intentionally not derived because the NumericalSingularity variant contains f64, where NaN != NaN would cause subtle comparison bugs. Use matches!() for pattern-matching assertions in tests.

Variants§

§

DimensionMismatch

Matrix dimensions are incompatible.

Fields

§expected: (usize, usize)

Expected dimensions (rows, cols).

§got: (usize, usize)

Actual dimensions (rows, cols).

§context: String

Description of where the mismatch occurred.

§

NotSquare

A matrix that should be square is not.

Fields

§dims: (usize, usize)

Actual dimensions (rows, cols).

§

InvalidInput

Input contains NaN, Inf, or other invalid floating-point values.

Fields

§reason: String

Description of the invalid input.

§

StructurallySingular

The matrix is structurally singular (symbolic analysis detected zero diagonal).

Fields

§column: usize

Zero-diagonal column index.

§

NumericalSingularity

Numeric factorization encountered a zero or near-zero pivot.

Fields

§pivot_index: usize

Index of the singular pivot.

§value: f64

The near-zero pivot value.

§

AnalysisFailure

An ordering or analysis algorithm failed.

Fields

§reason: String

Description of the failure.

§

IoError

An IO operation failed (file not found, permission denied, etc.).

Fields

§source: String

Error description.

§path: String

File path that caused the error.

§

ParseError

A file could not be parsed (malformed Matrix Market, invalid JSON, etc.).

Fields

§reason: String

Description of the parse failure.

§path: String

File path that could not be parsed.

§line: Option<usize>

Line number where parsing failed, if available.

§

MatrixNotFound

A named matrix was not found in the registry.

Fields

§name: String

Name that was looked up.

§

SolveBeforeFactor

Solve was called before factor() completed.

Fields

§context: String

Description of the premature solve attempt.
