Document store. Unlike the three SQL engines, MongoDB has no SQL, no fixed per-collection schema, and no information_schema — so the SQL-shaped read seam (chunked/keyset planning, incremental predicate building, catalog introspection) does not apply. The OSS source is the JSON-blob model: each document exports as _id + a document JSON column, typing punted downstream. Change streams (CDC) map onto the canonical ChangeStream seam separately.
