ActionError

Enum ActionError

Source
pub enum ActionError {
    Aborted,
    Disconnected,
    Transcript(Error),
    Backend(BackendError),
    Failed(String),
}
Expand description

Errors that may surface from an Action handler.

Variants§

§

Aborted

Operator requested abort. Propagated from Reporter::check_abort or Reporter::prompt.

§

Disconnected

Frontend channel disconnected. The executor unwinds to a failure.

§

Transcript(Error)

Transcript sink failed to persist a fact.

§

Backend(BackendError)

Underlying backend returned an error.

§

Failed(String)

Catch-all for handler-specific failures.

Implementations§

Source§

impl ActionError

Source

pub fn retriability(&self) -> Retriability

Classify whether the step that failed with this error may be retried.

Delegates to BackendError::retriability for ActionError::Backend; every other handler-level error is Retriability::Fatal. Failed covers procedural failures (a check_value mismatch must never be re-run, that would be tampering) as well as integrity and configuration errors, all of which are non-retriable. Aborted is an operator decision handled on the abort path and is never auto-retried, so it is classified fatal here as a safe default.
