Value

Enum Value

Source
pub enum Value {
    Bytes(Zeroizing<Vec<u8>>),
    String(String),
    Integer(i64),
    Boolean(bool),
    Null,
}
Expand description

A runtime value in the expression system.

Debug shows a byte value by its length, for the reason given on Bytes: an error message or a log line that prints a value must not print what it holds.

Variants§

§

Bytes(Zeroizing<Vec<u8>>)

Raw binary data (computation core).

Wiped when dropped, and never printed. A value may be a copy of opened content or key material, and the expression engine cannot tell which of its inputs are, so every byte value is treated as if it were.

§

String(String)

UTF-8 text string

§

Integer(i64)

Integer value

§

Boolean(bool)

Boolean value

§

Null

Null/missing value

Implementations§

Source§

impl Value

Source

pub fn bytes(bytes: Vec<u8>) -> Self

Wrap bytes as a value.

Source

pub fn as_bytes(&self) -> Option<&[u8]>

Try to get this value as bytes. Strings are read as their UTF-8 bytes.

Borrowed rather than copied, so a pipe stage that only reads its input leaves no copy of it behind.

Source

pub fn as_string(&self) -> Option<&str>

Try to get this value as a string.

Source

pub fn as_integer(&self) -> Option<i64>

Try to get this value as an integer.

Source

pub fn is_null(&self) -> bool

Check if this value is null.

Source

pub fn type_name(&self) -> &'static str

Get a human-readable type name for error messages.
