Worker

Struct Worker

Source
pub struct Worker { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Handle to the worker thread. Dropping it stops the thread.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Worker

Source

pub fn spawn<S, F>(make_source: F, interval: Duration) -> Self
where S: DataSource + 'static, F: FnOnce() -> S + Send + 'static,

Starts the worker. make_source runs on the worker thread, so slow initialization (NVML, warm-up sample, SSH connection) does not delay the first frame.

Source

pub fn spawn_with_notify<S, F, N>( make_source: F, interval: Duration, notify: N, ) -> Self
where S: DataSource + 'static, F: FnOnce() -> S + Send + 'static, N: Fn() + Send + 'static,

Like Worker::spawn, and calls notify after every event so that an event-driven UI (e.g. egui’s request_repaint) can wake up instead of polling.

Source

pub fn send(&self, command: Command)

Sends a command; silently ignored if the worker has stopped.

Source

pub fn try_recv(&self) -> Option<Event>

Returns the next pending event without blocking.

Trait Implementations§

impl Drop for Worker

Source§

fn drop(&mut self)

Executes the destructor for this type. Read more
Source§

fn pin_drop(self: Pin<&mut Self>)

🔬This is a nightly-only experimental API. (pin_ergonomics)
Execute the destructor for this type, but different to Drop::drop, it requires self to be pinned. Read more
