A file another process rewrites as its heartbeat. The watch reads only its modification time, so the writer needs no protocol: a process that keeps touching the file is alive.

Fields

path: PathBuf

The file the other process writes (for example a pid-scoped heartbeat in the app data folder). It may be missing; see HeartbeatWatch.

poll: Duration

How often the file is looked at.

threshold: Duration

An age (time since the last write) at or above which the writer counts as stalled.
