Visible

What a person browsing the project sees, as ripgrep lists it: no file the ignore rules (.gitignore, .ignore, the git excludes) leave out, no hidden file or directory (named with a leading .), no target directory.

Hidden

Every file the ignore rules keep, hidden ones such as .github/ and .env.example included; .git left out.

All

Every regular file.

The listing a search or listing for glob uses: Visible becomes Hidden when the glob names a hidden file or directory, such as .github/** or **/.env*, so asking for one finds it.

pub fn keeps(self, below: &Path) -> bool

Whether this listing keeps below, a path below the listed root, by its names alone (the ignore rules aside): Visible none of whose parts is hidden or target, Hidden none of whose parts is .git.
