How a request with tools asks a Messages-format provider to stream each call’s input as the model writes it. Without it, Anthropic holds a long argument value back and sends it in one burst. Unary requests ask too, so a tool definition, which a prompt cache keys on, is the same whether a turn streams.

eager_input_streaming: true on each Rig tool definition.

BetaHeader

The fine-grained-tool-streaming-2025-05-14 beta flag, for a provider that rejects the per-tool field.

Off

Neither: the provider streams tool input as it chooses.
