Errors produced anywhere in the pipeline.

The Again and Eof variants intentionally mirror FFmpeg’s EAGAIN / AVERROR_EOF control-flow signals from the send/receive codec API: they are not “failures” so much as “ask again later” / “stream is finished”.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

Unimplemented(&'static str)

A code path that is scaffolded but not yet implemented. Carries a short static label so logs point straight at the missing piece.

Eof

End of stream — a demuxer or decoder has no more data to give.

Again

More input is required before output can be produced (codec drain/fill).

InvalidData(String)

The input bytes were malformed for the expected format/codec.

Unsupported(String)

A requested capability exists in concept but isn’t supported here.

DecoderNotFound(CodecId)

No registered decoder could handle this codec.

EncoderNotFound(CodecId)

No registered encoder could handle this codec.

MuxerNotFound(String)

No registered muxer matched the requested container name/extension.

DemuxerNotFound(String)

No registered demuxer could probe/handle the input.

Option(String)

A passed option was not recognised or had an invalid value.

Io(Error)

Underlying I/O failure.
