Hash64

Struct Hash64

Source
pub struct Hash64 { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

A streaming FNV-1a 64 digest: write values in a fixed order, read digest.

It is also a Hasher, so a type whose Hash implementation is yours can be folded through Hash::hash. The two paths agree on every primitive: this type overrides every integer writer, so u32 folds as four little-endian bytes either way. They differ on str, which the harness’s own str length-prefixes while Hash’s stable default writes the bytes and a 0xff; both are pinned, pick one and stay with it.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Hash64

Source

pub const fn new() -> Self

A digest of nothing: the FNV-1a offset basis.

Source

pub const fn digest(&self) -> u64

What has been written so far.

Writing more changes it, so read it where the stream ends.

Source

pub fn bytes(&mut self, bytes: &[u8])

Raw bytes, as given: no length prefix, no padding.

Source

pub fn str(&mut self, value: &str)

A string as its length then its UTF-8 bytes.

Source

pub fn u8(&mut self, value: u8)

One byte.

Source

pub fn u16(&mut self, value: u16)

A 16-bit value, little-endian.

Source

pub fn u32(&mut self, value: u32)

A 32-bit value, little-endian.

Source

pub fn u64(&mut self, value: u64)

A 64-bit value, little-endian.

Source

pub fn u128(&mut self, value: u128)

A 128-bit value, little-endian.

Source

pub fn i8(&mut self, value: i8)

A signed value as its two’s-complement bits.

Source

pub fn i16(&mut self, value: i16)

A signed value as its two’s-complement bits.

Source

pub fn i32(&mut self, value: i32)

A signed value as its two’s-complement bits.

Source

pub fn i64(&mut self, value: i64)

A signed value as its two’s-complement bits.

Source

pub fn usize(&mut self, value: usize)

A length or index, folded as u64 so the width is not target-dependent.

Source

pub fn isize(&mut self, value: isize)

A length or index, folded as i64 so the width is not target-dependent.

Source

pub fn f32(&mut self, value: f32)

A float by its bits, so the fold is exact.

Source

pub fn f64(&mut self, value: f64)

A float by its bits, so the fold is exact.

Source

pub fn bool(&mut self, value: bool)

A bool as one byte, 0 or 1.
