Expand description

An atomic element within a word: literal text, expansion, or glob.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Lit(&'a str)

Literal text.

§

Escaped(Cow<'a, str>)

Backslash-escaped character.

§

Param(Param<'a>)

Parameter reference ($var, $1, $@, etc.).

§

Subst(Box<Subst<'a>>)

Substitution ($(cmd), ${var...}, $((expr))).

§

Star

* glob wildcard.

§

Question

? glob wildcard.

§

SquareOpen

[ glob bracket open.

§

SquareClose

] glob bracket close.

§

Tilde

~ tilde expansion.

§

ProcSubIn(Vec<Cmd<'a>>)

<(cmd) — process substitution (input).

§

AnsiCQuoted(&'a str)

ANSI-C $'...' — raw content between the quotes (escape sequences unresolved).

§

BraceRange

Brace range expansion: {start..end[..step]}.

Fields

§start: &'a str

Range start value.

§end: &'a str

Range end value.

§step: Option<&'a str>

Optional step value.
