An input error from a public entry point.

This covers recoverable problems with the call: a bad flag, a conflicting config, or a pattern that fails to parse. It is separate from AnalysisLimit, which reports that the analysis hit a cap and is part of a successful Report.

Match with a wildcard arm. New variants may be added in a future version.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

UnsupportedFlag(char)

A flag letter outside u g s y i d m.

CaseInsensitiveWithUnicode

case_insensitive was set together with unicode.

AtomicGroupOffsetsWithDowngrade

atomic_group_offsets was set together with downgrade_pattern: true.

InvalidTimeout

timeout was zero.

InvalidMaxSteps

max_steps was zero.

Parse(String)

The pattern failed to parse. The string is the parser message.

MissingStartAnchor

downgrade_pattern was off and the pattern has no start anchor.

UnsupportedReference

downgrade_pattern was off and the pattern has a backreference the analyzer cannot handle without downgrading, such as a reference to a group of unbounded size.
