Expand description

Layer 0 configuration pack knobs (bd-bqu38).

Every knob defaults to OFF and toggles independently — the kill/rollback contract from the master plan (§149: removed from defaults if it regresses representative p95, output equivalence, debugger behavior, or compatibility). Knobs are injected into remote cargo builds as CARGO_PROFILE_* environment variables, so enabling one never mutates any user-owned .cargo/config.toml. Verification lanes (--clean-overlay, --source-content-receipt) build exactly what the project declares and never receive the pack.

Fields§

§enabled: bool

Master switch: nothing is injected unless this is on.

§release_lto_thin: bool

profile.release.lto = "thin" via CARGO_PROFILE_RELEASE_LTO=thin.

§release_codegen_units_1: bool

profile.release.codegen-units = 1 via CARGO_PROFILE_RELEASE_CODEGEN_UNITS=1.

§debug_line_tables_only: bool

debug = "line-tables-only" for the dev and test profiles, via CARGO_PROFILE_{DEV,TEST}_DEBUG (bd-hoxgn). Full DWARF was about 77% of fleet debug/test binaries (2026-09-25 sweep), so this is the main lever on worker target size. Backtraces keep file and line; debuggers lose local variables. A host-level .cargo/config.toml cannot carry it: clean-overlay builds refuse any ancestor Cargo config (RCH-E413).

Implementations§

Source§

impl Layer0Config

Source

pub fn active_env(&self) -> Vec<(&'static str, &'static str)>

Environment pairs to inject into a remote cargo build.

Empty unless Self::enabled — the master switch gates every knob so an operator can disable the whole pack with one key. Order is stable (declaration order) for deterministic emission and test assertions.
