Selects which POSIX-compatible sh-family shell is in use.

All flavors share Bash’s script generation logic (POSIX-compatible dot sourcing, export, unset, etc.). The differences are:

• executable() returns the correct binary name per flavor.
• Bash-specific features like completion sourcing are only enabled for Bash-compatible flavors (BashFlavor::Bash and BashFlavor::Brush).

Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

Sh

POSIX /bin/sh.

Dash

Debian Almquist Shell.

Ksh

KornShell.

BusyBox

BusyBox sh (identifies itself as sh).

Brush

Brush, a Bash-compatible shell written in Rust (https://brush.sh).
