Program

Struct Program

Source
pub struct Program { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Compiled expression program

This is the executable form of an expression. It’s designed to be:

  • Cheap to clone (uses Arc internally for large data)
  • Fast to execute (linear operation sequence)
  • Self-contained (no external lookups needed)

Implementations§

Source§

impl Program

Source

pub fn try_new(ops: Vec<Op>) -> Result<Self>

Validate and create a program from a public bytecode sequence.

Source

pub fn try_new_unoptimized(ops: Vec<Op>) -> Result<Self>

Validate and create an unoptimized program.

Source

pub fn null() -> Self

Create an empty program that returns NULL

Source

pub fn constant(value: Value) -> Self

Create a program that returns a constant value

Source

pub fn always_true() -> Self

Create a program that returns true

Source

pub fn always_false() -> Self

Create a program that returns false

Source

pub fn ops(&self) -> &[Op]

Get the operations

Source

pub fn max_stack_depth(&self) -> usize

Get the maximum stack depth needed

Source

pub fn needs_outer_context(&self) -> bool

Check if this program needs outer row context

Source

pub fn needs_second_row(&self) -> bool

Check if this program needs a second row (for joins)

Source

pub fn len(&self) -> usize

Get the number of operations

Source

pub fn is_empty(&self) -> bool

Check if program is empty

Source

pub fn with_source(self, source: String) -> Self

Set source string for debugging

Source

pub fn source(&self) -> Option<&str>

Get source string

Source

pub fn disassemble(&self) -> String

Disassemble the program for debugging

Source

pub fn optimize(self) -> Self

Apply peephole optimizations to fuse common instruction patterns. This is called automatically when creating a program via new().
