How a partitioned type’s ranges are sized.
Range partitioning on a time column only — the case declarative partitioning actually pays off for, and the only one that has a sensible automatic maintenance story (create the next few ranges, drop the ones past retention). List and hash partitioning need a key set known up front, which is a different feature, not a parameter of this one.
