pub enum TexRole {
Color,
Normal,
Mask,
Data,
Other,
}Expand description
What a texture is used as.
Variants§
Color
Normal
Mask
Packed scalar maps (metal/rough/AO/opacity, specular, …): always linear.
Data
Numbers or indices a shader reads exactly (a palette indexed per vertex, a lookup table): any filtering, resizing or lossy coding changes what it means. The reader sets it from how the material binds the texture (a point sampler without mips, or the slot’s documented use); passes and writers that change texels keep it whole and lossless.
