ComputedRef

Struct ComputedRef

Source
pub struct ComputedRef {
    pub function: QualifiedIdentifier,
    pub relation: String,
    pub row_type: QualifiedIdentifier,
}
Expand description

A computed field: a function applied to the row.

Fields§

§function: QualifiedIdentifier

The function to call.

§relation: String

The relation whose row it takes, as it is named in the query.

§row_type: QualifiedIdentifier

The type that row is, which is not always what the query can infer.

A mutation reads its rows back out of a CTE, and a CTE’s row is a record: computed_overload(record) is not unique is PostgreSQL declining to choose between the overload on items and the one on items2, because nothing said which it had. Casting the row to the relation’s own type says so, and is a no-op everywhere it was already unambiguous.
