Enum Diagnostic

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum Diagnostic { InvalidOperation { operation: String, location: String, reason: &'static str, }, }
Expand description

Structured diagnostics and recovery categories for failed dialect operations. Structured diagnostics and recovery categories for failed dialect operations. Structured diagnostics and recovery categories for failed dialect operations. Structured failures raised by math verification.

These errors are wrapped in pliron::result::Error. Use Diagnostic::from_error to recover the structured details.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

InvalidOperation

An operation’s attributes, types, or structure violate its contract.

Fields

§operation: String

Operation name identifying the failed check.

§location: String

Rendered source location, or a placeholder when no source is available.

§reason: &'static str

Specific violated constraint; correct the IR before retrying.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Diagnostic

Source

pub fn from_error(error: &Error) -> Option<&Self>

Finds the first math diagnostic in an error and its source chain.

Traverses framework err payloads as well as standard error sources.

Source

pub fn recovery_category(&self) -> RecoveryCategory

Classifies the action a caller should take before retrying.

impl Error for Diagnostic

1.30.0 · Source§

fn source(&self) -> Option<&(dyn Error + 'static)>

Returns the lower-level source of this error, if any. Read more
1.0.0 · Source§

fn description(&self) -> &str

👎Deprecated since 1.42.0:

use the Display impl or to_string()

1.0.0 · Source§

fn cause(&self) -> Option<&dyn Error>

👎Deprecated since 1.33.0:

replaced by Error::source, which can support downcasting

Source§

fn provide<'a>(&'a self, request: &mut Request<'a>)

🔬This is a nightly-only experimental API. (error_generic_member_access)
Provides type-based access to context intended for error reports. Read more

impl From<Diagnostic> for Error

Source§

fn from(diagnostic: Diagnostic) -> Self

Converts to this type from the input type.
