PHP built-in type keyword — compact alternative to Name::Simple for the 17 reserved type names.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Int = 0

int — integer scalar type.

§

Float = 1

float — floating-point scalar type.

§

String = 2

string — string scalar type.

§

Bool = 3

bool — boolean scalar type.

§

Void = 4

void — return-only type indicating no value is returned.

§

Never = 5

never — return-only type for functions that never return normally (PHP 8.1+).

§

Mixed = 6

mixed — top type; accepts any value.

§

Object = 7

object — any object instance.

§

Iterable = 8

iterable — array or Traversable (deprecated in PHP 8.2; use array|Traversable).

§

Callable = 9

callable — any callable value.

§

Array = 10

array — any PHP array.

§

Self_ = 11

self — refers to the class in which the type hint appears.

§

Parent_ = 12

parent — refers to the parent class of the class in which the type hint appears.

§

Static = 13

static — late-static-bound type; the class on which the method was called.

§

Null = 14

null — the null type; only valid in union types.

§

True = 15

true — the literal boolean true (PHP 8.2+).

§

False = 16

false — the literal boolean false.
