Expand description

Native CIF syntax, limit, lookup, or domain failure.

A returned error means no scientifically valid structure was produced. Recoverable decisions on a successful permissive import are represented by CifDiagnostic instead.

Variants§

§

InvalidLimits

One or more configured limits are zero.

§

ByteLimitExceeded

UTF-8 input exceeds the configured byte limit.

Fields

§actual: u64

Observed byte count.

§maximum: usize

Configured maximum.

§

Io(Error)

Filesystem or UTF-8 reading failed.

§

Syntax

CIF tokenization or document structure is invalid.

Fields

§message: String

Stable explanation.

§line: Option<usize>

One-based source line when known.

§

Limit

A parser or import resource limit was exceeded.

Fields

§message: String

Stable explanation including the limit name.

§

Import

A syntactically valid CIF cannot form the requested structure.

Fields

§message: String

Stable explanation.

§

Unsupported

A deliberately unsupported CIF feature was encountered in strict mode.

Fields

§feature: String

Unsupported feature family.

§message: String

Human-readable explanation.

§

SpaceGroup(SpaceGroupLookupError)

Native space-group lookup failed.

§

Cell(CellError)

Unit-cell validation failed.

§

Symmetry(SymmetryError)

Exact operation validation failed.
