The isolation level a transaction asks for. A backend gives the level asked for or a stronger one; which it can actually show is what the rel.isolation.* leaves certify.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

ReadCommitted

No dirty reads: the backend’s usual level for a transaction here.

RepeatableRead

A row or count read twice in the transaction reads the same.

Serializable

Concurrent transactions behave as if they ran one at a time (a conflicting one fails with RelError::Serialization, or waits).
