The bit widths and decode ranges a mesh stream declares.

§coord_bits: u32

/BitsPerCoordinate.

§component_bits: u32

/BitsPerComponent.

§flag_bits: u32

/BitsPerFlag, unvalidated for the lattice type which has no flags.

§components: usize

How many colour components each record carries — 1 whenever any function is present.

§decode: Box<[f32]>

/Decode, [xmin, xmax, ymin, ymax, c0min, c0max, …].

§coord_max: u32

2^coord_bits - 1.

§component_max: u32

2^component_bits - 1.

Validate the widths and the /Decode length.

kind decides whether /BitsPerFlag is validated at all: the lattice type reads no edge flags, so its value is never checked.

The first colour component’s decode range — /Decode[4], /Decode[5].

Under a /Function this is the parametric value’s domain, which is what a ramp is sampled across. The length check in Self::new has already guaranteed both entries exist.
