Warnings that can occur while interpreting a PDF file.

Variants§

§

UnsupportedFont

An unsupported font kind was encountered.

Currently, only CID fonts with non-identity encoding are unsupported.

§

ImageDecodeFailure

An image failed to decode.

§

StreamTooLarge

A stream exceeded the configured max_stream_bytes cap during image decode. Must not be silently discarded — propagate as LimitError::StreamTooLarge / Error::ResourceLimitExceeded.

Both fields are u64 so the variant remains Copy.

Fields

§observed: u64

Observed decompressed size in bytes.

§limit: u64

Configured limit in bytes.

§

NestingTooDeep

Content stream nesting hit MAX_NESTED_INTERPRETATION_DEPTH and the rest of that branch was not interpreted (#318).

Reaching this means paint is MISSING from the page: a caller that renders a thumbnail may not care, one that rasterises for archival should. It was a warn! line only, which a library embedder never sees – the depth bound turns a crash into a silent omission, and a silent omission is exactly what a warning channel is for.

Fields

§limit: u32

The limit that was hit.

§

UnresolvedAnnotationAppearance

An annotation has an AP dictionary, but its normal appearance could not be selected or loaded, so the annotation was not drawn.
