Struct FontCMapGaps

pub struct FontCMapGaps {
    pub font: String,
    pub codes: u32,
    pub interpolated: u32,
    pub unmapped: u32,
}
Expand description

A font whose ToUnicode CMap (or, for a font without one, the embedded program’s own cmap table) had no entry for some of the codes the document shows through it, and what became of those codes.

A CMap written for some of a font’s glyphs but not all of them loses the others’ letters from the text. A code without an entry is read from the mapped codes around it when they spell it out — a CMap mapping code 36 to A and code 38 to C says code 37 is B, for a run of digits or of letters of one case whose glyph order follows the alphabet — and is a U+FFFD in the text otherwise, so the loss stays visible. The counts let a caller weigh text read from such a font: codes - interpolated - unmapped of its codes had an entry.

Fields§

§font: String

The font’s /BaseFont name, or its resource name when it has none or an empty one.

§codes: u32

Codes shown through the font’s CMap, repeats included: two-byte codes, or the bytes of a single-byte CMap.

§interpolated: u32

Codes without an entry that were read from the mapped codes around them.

§unmapped: u32

Codes without an entry that could not be read; each is a U+FFFD in the text.
