pub struct DataParallelTrainer;Expand description
Coordinates data-parallel training by splitting batches and merging worker gradients.
Implementations§
Source§impl DataParallelTrainer
impl DataParallelTrainer
Sourcepub fn split_batch(
&self,
data: &[DistributedTrainingSample],
n_workers: u32,
) -> Vec<Vec<DistributedTrainingSample>>
pub fn split_batch( &self, data: &[DistributedTrainingSample], n_workers: u32, ) -> Vec<Vec<DistributedTrainingSample>>
Evenly split data across n_workers workers.
Returns a Vec of sub-batches, one per worker. If data.len() is not
evenly divisible some workers receive one extra sample (round-robin
assignment).
Sourcepub fn merge_worker_updates(&self, updates: Vec<WorkerUpdate>) -> ModelUpdate
pub fn merge_worker_updates(&self, updates: Vec<WorkerUpdate>) -> ModelUpdate
Merge gradient updates from all workers into a single ModelUpdate.
Gradients are averaged weighted by samples_processed so that workers
with larger mini-batches contribute proportionally more.
