ChirikovStandardMap

Struct ChirikovStandardMap

Source
pub struct ChirikovStandardMap {
    pub k: f64,
}
Expand description

The Chirikov–Taylor standard map (area-preserving):

p_{n+1} = p_n + K sin(θ_n)   (mod 2π)
θ_{n+1} = θ_n + p_{n+1}      (mod 2π)

K is the stochasticity parameter; chaos sets in for K ≳ 1.

Fields§

§k: f64

Stochasticity parameter K.

Implementations§

Source§

impl ChirikovStandardMap

Source

pub fn new(k: f64) -> Self

Create a Chirikov standard map with parameter K.

Source

pub fn apply(&self, theta: f64, p: f64) -> (f64, f64)

Apply one step. Both theta and p are taken modulo . Returns (theta_new, p_new).

Source

pub fn orbit_2d(&self, theta0: f64, p0: f64, n: usize) -> Vec<(f64, f64)>

Compute an orbit for n steps.

Source

pub fn lyapunov_exponent(&self, theta0: f64, p0: f64, n: usize) -> f64

Estimate the Lyapunov exponent via the method of Benettin et al.
