Produced by oxios-kernel::resilience::classify::classify and attached to ExecutionResult via [ExecutionResult::failure_class].

None on ExecutionResult.failure_class means either the run succeeded or the run failed in a way that is NOT a provider/infra failure (cancellation, abort, missing agent, etc.).

Variants

Transient

429 / 5xx / network / timeout. Same model may recover with backoff.

QuotaExhausted

402 billing / quota exhausted. Waiting is pointless — change provider.

AuthFailure

401 / 403 invalid key. Must change provider or credential.

ContextOverflow

Context window exceeded. Compact, or switch to larger-context model.

ModelUnavailable

Model not found / deprecated / unsupported. Must switch model.

BudgetExceeded

Token or cost budget hit — a policy limit, not a provider fault.

Unknown

Unclassified. Conservative: one same-model retry, then escalate.
