Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Loopback

This machine (127.0.0.0/8, ::1), including the proxy itself.

LinkLocal

Link-local (169.254.0.0/16, fe80::/10): where cloud metadata lives.

Metadata

A cloud metadata address outside the link-local ranges.

NotUnicast

Unspecified, broadcast, multicast or 0.0.0.0/8: never a server.

Private(&'static str)

Private, CGNAT, benchmarking or unique-local (fc00::/7): reachable only when an allow rule names the address (named). Carries the description naming the range.
