Errors arising from Core Protocol handshake operations.

Variants§

§

UnsupportedVersion

The protocol version in the received message is not supported.

Fields

§received: u8

The version received from the peer.

§supported: u8

The version this implementation supports.

§

InvalidChallenge

A challenge failed the Section 4 field constraints.

Fields

§reason: String

What constraint failed.

§

InvalidProof

A proof failed the Section 15.3 shape checks.

Fields

§reason: String

What constraint failed.

§

NonceMismatch

The nonce echoed in the proof does not match the challenge.

Fields

§expected: String

The nonce in the challenge.

§received: String

The nonce echoed in the proof.

§

ChallengeExpired

The challenge nonce has expired (anti-replay protection).

Fields

§issued: String

When the challenge was issued.

§expiry: String

When it expired.

§now: String

Current timestamp.

§

ReplayDetected

A nonce was reused (replay attack detected).

Fields

§nonce_hex: String

Hex-encoded nonce that was replayed.

§

SignatureVerificationFailed

Signature verification failed against the trusted key set.

Fields

§reason: String

Why verification failed.

§

InvalidDidDocument

The peer’s DID document is structurally invalid or missing required fields.

Fields

§did: String

The DID whose document was invalid.

§reason: String

What was wrong.

§

TransportFailed

The transport layer failed to send or receive a message.

Fields

§reason: String

Underlying transport error.

§

Timeout

A timeout occurred waiting for a response from the peer.

Fields

§step: String

Which protocol step timed out.

§timeout_secs: u64

How long we waited.

§

SerializationFailed

Serialization or deserialization of a protocol message failed.

Fields

§message_type: String

The message type being (de)serialized.

§reason: String

Underlying failure reason.

§

ExpiryTooLong

The challenge expiry duration exceeds the maximum allowed (300 seconds, per Section 7 of the Core Protocol Specification).

Fields

§requested_secs: u64

The requested expiry in seconds.

§max_secs: u64

The maximum allowed.

§

Internal(String)

An internal failure that is not the peer’s fault (e.g. a poisoned lock in a session store). Surfaced rather than panicked, per the workspace no-panic policy.

§

SessionNotFound

A presented session token does not identify a live session.

Fields

§session_id: String

The token or identifier presented.

§

SessionExpired

A session exists but has expired and was removed.

Fields

§session_id: String

The token or identifier presented.
