pub enum GatewayCarrier {
Internet,
Reticulum,
}Expand description
A carrier that speaks the gateway contract, and can therefore answer about a third party’s reachability.
Two of the five transports qualify, and the type exists so the other three cannot be passed where a gateway answer is expected. That is not a theoretical tidiness: every effect of a presence answer is carrier-scoped, so a wrong carrier records a fact against a transport that never claimed it and pins an un-park flush to a transport that never proved anything, neither of which fails loudly.
- BLE and Wi-Fi Direct are zone carriers. A neighbour being in range is a fact about this device’s own link, not a claim about a third party, and it arrives through discovery rather than through a verb.
- Nostr structurally cannot answer: a broadcast relay reports no per-recipient delivery, so it is a carrier and never a gateway. See ADR 0017. This is a permanent gap, recorded here in the type so it stops being rediscovered as a bug.
Variants§
Internet
The internet relay, which implemented every verb before the contract named them.
Reticulum
A gateway daemon reached over the Reticulum transport’s local IP contract.
Implementations§
Source§impl GatewayCarrier
impl GatewayCarrier
Sourcepub fn transport(self) -> TransportType
pub fn transport(self) -> TransportType
The transport this gateway’s answers are recorded against.
Sourcepub fn presence_source(self) -> PresenceSource
pub fn presence_source(self) -> PresenceSource
How a presence answer from this gateway is labelled to the app.
Sourcepub fn from_transport(transport: TransportType) -> Option<Self>
pub fn from_transport(transport: TransportType) -> Option<Self>
The gateway behind transport, or None for a carrier that answers
no verdicts.
Exhaustive by construction rather than by a wildcard: a sixth
transport must be classified here deliberately, and the wrong default
is the silent one. A carrier that returns None is not broken; it
simply never contradicts the blanket “up means reachable” assumption,
which is the residual docs/mesh.md records.

Source§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};
painted.fg(Color::White);Set foreground color to white using white().

Returns a styled value derived from self with the background set to

This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like on_red() and
on_green(), which have the same functionality but
are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};

fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling Attribute value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};
painted.attr(Attribute::Bold);Make text bold using using bold().

painted.bold();Source§fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
Source§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi Quirk value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();Source§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
Source§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the Condition value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
