#[non_exhaustive]#[repr(i32)]pub enum MetricKind {
Unspecified = 0,
Counter = 1,
Gauge = 2,
Histogram = 3,
}Expand description
Metric type for a MEASUREMENT field. See
12-schema-and-codegen.md §
2.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
Unspecified = 0
Never appears in a well-formed schema.
Counter = 1
Monotonically increasing counter (e.g. bytes_out, request_count).
Gauge = 2
Last-write-wins gauge (e.g. queue_depth, in_flight).
Histogram = 3
Histogram with explicit bucket bounds (e.g. latency_ms).
