Either direct (parent, instance) (parent defaults to the cli’s own Config.agent_instance_hierarchy when omitted), a tag name the cli resolves at handler time, or me (the caller’s own Config.agent_instance_hierarchy, with no child leaf appended). Shared with agents read pending via re-export.
