pub enum ErrorsHashableScalar {
NonFiniteValue {
backtrace: Backtrace,
},
}Expand description
Error returned when constructing a HashableScalar from an invalid value.
Hash-based collections require keys to implement Eq and Hash. Floating-point
NaN values do not satisfy the reflexive equality requirement because NaN != NaN,
so they cannot safely be used as hash keys. This error preserves that invariant by
rejecting non-finite values during HashableScalar::try_new.
§Examples
use num_valid::scalars::{ErrorsHashableScalar, HashableScalar};
let result = HashableScalar::try_new(f64::NAN);
assert!(matches!(
result,
Err(ErrorsHashableScalar::NonFiniteValue { .. })
));§See Also

Variants§
NonFiniteValue
The supplied scalar is NaN or infinite.
Non-finite values cannot satisfy the equality contract required by hash-based
collections, so HashableScalar::try_new rejects them.
