Variants

Ignore

Bind None and continue — the historical behaviour, and the default so existing workloads are unaffected.

Warn

Log it. For a capture that is legitimately sometimes absent but whose absence you still want to see.

Error

Fail the op. For a capture whose absence means the query or the schema changed under you — which otherwise reads identically to “measured, and it was absent”.
