pub enum CombineMode {
Coalesce,
Aggregate,
}Expand description
How two matching metric points combine. The counter cumulative
field is the only thing that differs (see the cumulative-counter
note): time-coalesce keeps the latest cumulative (monotonic), a
cross-component aggregate sums it. Everything else — counter total
(delta), gauges, histograms — is identical in both modes.
Variants§
Coalesce
Consecutive windows of one series (the cadence cascade): counter
cumulative = most-recent by timestamp.
Aggregate
Same family+labels across components (cross-component totals):
counter cumulative = sum.
