The classic inetd services (RFC 862-868) over TCP and UDP, sharing one engine. Rust owns the framing, the clock arithmetic, the chargen pattern and every bound; handlers decide what each request receives. No handler failure ever produces fabricated output.
Modules§
- actions
- The six classic inetd services as protocols sharing one engine. Each protocol type is a
thin wrapper over
Service, which carries its metadata, event and action. - wire
- Wire helpers for the classic inetd services: Echo (RFC 862), Discard (RFC 863), Chargen (RFC 864), QOTD (RFC 865), Daytime (RFC 867) and Time (RFC 868).
Constants§
- DEFAULT_
CHARGEN_ LINE - RFC 864’s customary line: 72 characters and CRLF.
- DEFAULT_
TRANSPORT - IDLE_
TIMEOUT - How long Echo and Discard wait for the client’s next bytes.
- MAX_
IDLE_ TIMEOUT_ SECS - MAX_
UDP_ IN_ FLIGHT - UDP requests handled at once; datagrams beyond this are dropped.
