pub struct Log<'a> { /* private fields */ }Expand description
A dual-sink emitter bound to an optional TUI status channel.
Construct one per call site (it borrows the channel, so it is a zero-cost
wrapper) and emit through it. Every method routes to the file log via
tracing and, when the Sink permits and a channel is present, to the
TUI with a bracket prefix that matches the level exactly.
Implementations§
Source§impl<'a> Log<'a>
impl<'a> Log<'a>
Sourcepub fn new(status_tx: Option<&'a UnboundedSender<String>>) -> Self
pub fn new(status_tx: Option<&'a UnboundedSender<String>>) -> Self
Bind the facade to an optional TUI status channel. None makes every
emission file-only regardless of Sink.
Sourcepub fn with_payloads(self, enabled: bool) -> Self
pub fn with_payloads(self, enabled: bool) -> Self
Suppress DEBUG/TRACE previews and bodies for one credential-bearing request. This is local to the emitter; it does not change shared logging settings.
Sourcepub fn emit(&self, level: Level, sink: Sink, msg: impl Display)
pub fn emit(&self, level: Level, sink: Sink, msg: impl Display)
Core fan-out: log msg at level, delivered per sink.
The file log always receives it (at the matching tracing level); the
TUI receives "[LEVEL] msg" only when sink is Sink::Both and a
channel is bound.
Sourcepub fn warn(&self, msg: impl Display)
pub fn warn(&self, msg: impl Display)
WARN: degraded, retried or fell back but recovered. Always file + TUI.
Sourcepub fn info(&self, msg: impl Display)
pub fn info(&self, msg: impl Display)
INFO: one lifecycle line. File + TUI by default; pass a Sink via
Self::info_to to keep it file-only.
Sourcepub fn debug_to(&self, sink: Sink, msg: impl Display)
pub fn debug_to(&self, sink: Sink, msg: impl Display)
DEBUG with explicit routing (e.g. surface a summary on the TUI).

Source§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};

are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():

Source§fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling Attribute value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};

Source§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi Quirk value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();Source§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>

The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
Source§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the Condition value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);Source§impl<T> Pipe for Twhere
