Icmpv6Message

Struct Icmpv6Message

Source
pub struct Icmpv6Message<'a> { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

A structurally validated ICMPv6 message.

Parsing verifies only the common header. It preserves unknown type and code values and does not reject a message with an invalid checksum.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Icmpv6Message<'_>

Source

pub fn checksum_is_valid_ipv6( &self, source: Ipv6Address, destination: Ipv6Address, ) -> Result<bool, Icmpv6ChecksumError>

Checks this ICMPv6 message against its IPv6 pseudoheader.

Source§

impl<'a> Icmpv6Message<'a>

Source

pub fn parse(bytes: &'a [u8]) -> Result<Self, ParseError>

Parses a complete ICMPv6 message without checking its checksum.

Source

pub fn message_type(&self) -> Icmpv6Type

Returns the message type.

Source

pub fn code(&self) -> u8

Returns the message code.

Source

pub fn checksum(&self) -> u16

Returns the encoded checksum.

Source

pub fn body(&self) -> &'a [u8]

Returns bytes after the common header.

Source

pub fn as_bytes(&self) -> &'a [u8]

Returns all represented message bytes.
