Backend for the web_search tool.

Variants

Auto

Zero-config default: Ollama Cloud when OLLAMA_API_KEY is set, otherwise an auto-managed local SearXNG container (mermaid starts it on the first search and tears it down on exit). The user configures nothing.

Ollama

Ollama Cloud’s /api/web_search (needs OLLAMA_API_KEY).

Searxng

A self-hosted SearXNG instance queried at searxng_url — keyless.
