GateStart

Struct GateStart

Source
pub struct GateStart { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

The policy a gate starts under, and the change it must apply before it admits any slot, if there is one (see the module docs, “A new tenure”).

The pending change is part of the start rather than something a caller may add: initial_gate_policy returns the two together and the gate takes the start whole and consumes the change, so the runtime cannot hand the gate the lineage’s policy and drop the transition to it on the way. The fields are crate-private for the same reason: outside the crate a start can only be settled, the start of a gate with no lineage change to apply (a harness driving the response stage by hand), so no caller can build one that names the lineage’s newest policy as in force.

Implementations§

Source§

impl GateStart

Source

pub fn settled(policy: AckPolicy) -> Self

Start under policy, nothing pending: a gate whose lineage holds no change, or one serving without replication (the standalone rule, see initial_gate_policy).
