Variants

Pending

Same incarnation, nothing completed since the baseline.

Completed

Same incarnation, at least one turn completed since the baseline.

IncarnationChanged

The identity’s runtime incarnation changed (lease rotation, destructive reset, or a process restart). Turn counts do not carry across incarnations, so the caller must re-establish a baseline rather than infer either completion or continued waiting.
