Token validation strategy for OAuth 2.1 auth.

Variants

Jwt

Validate JWTs locally via JWKS (default). Fast, no network call per request.

Introspection

Validate tokens via the authorization server’s introspection endpoint (RFC 7662). Works with opaque tokens. Requires client_id and client_secret.

Both

Try JWT validation first; fall back to introspection for non-JWT tokens. Requires client_id and client_secret.
