Which compiler versions’ cached results a pass removes.

§max_age: Option<Duration>

Remove versions unused for this long, always keeping the newest.

§release: Option<String>

Remove every result of this compiler, however recently it was used.

Matches the release a compiler reports, such as 1.97.1 or 1.99.0-nightly, or the whole version line, such as 1.99.0-nightly (abc123def 2026-09-01), which tells two nightlies of one release apart. Unlike max_age, nothing is exempt: naming the newest version removes it.
